Leads and Deals

Users with the relevant leads or deals permission. Creating, editing, and managing records each require their own action; own scope can further restrict the records you can work with.

Confirm whether the work begins as a lead or an existing deal. Link an organization, contact, or owner when you have reliable context rather than creating duplicate records.

  1. Open Leads to qualify inbound demand, record the next step, and connect known organizations or contacts.
  2. Open Deals when the opportunity should move through a pipeline. Use the stage controls and the record’s readiness context to advance eligible work.
  3. Keep the deal’s owner, pipeline stage, value, and next action current on the source record.
  4. Use Reports to inspect a permitted pipeline view rather than treating a summary card as final evidence.

Related tasks, campaigns, contracts, invoices, and activity should be attached through their source records. A stage change is a recorded CRM state; it does not by itself prove a contract, payment, or delivery outcome.

  • Cannot open or edit a record: check module action and owner scope.
  • Need to create a new record: use only the action exposed by the application; creation may be permission-gated even when the list is visible.
  • Need account context: continue with Contacts and organizations.
