Contacts and Organizations

Users with contacts or organizations access. The controls available depend on read, create, and edit permission, plus owner scope.

Search for an existing contact or organization first. A correct relationship is more valuable than a duplicate profile with incomplete history.

  1. Open Organizations to record account or brand context and connect it to deals or campaigns where relevant.
  2. Open Contacts to record people, then link them to the correct organization when that relationship is known.
  3. Use the source record’s activity and related-record context to capture operational information in the appropriate place.
  4. Revisit linked deal or campaign records after changing context that affects their ownership or follow-up.

Organizations and contacts help the CRM relate pipeline, campaign, finance, and communication work. They do not grant access to another module on their own.

  • Possible duplicate: review search results and existing organization links before creating another record.
  • Cannot see a related record: its separate module permission or owner scope may be more restrictive.
  • Need outreach or delivery work: continue with Cold contacts and outreach or Campaigns and sequences.
