Files and Data Exchange
Who this is for
Section titled “Who this is for”File access requires the files module and, where applicable, access to the attached record. Data Exchange monitoring is a manage-level data_exchange capability.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”Check whether a file belongs to a record you can read. For imports and exports, use only approved files and mappings; do not expose private data in support requests or screenshots.
- Use the attached-record file controls to list, upload, complete, download, or—when authorized—delete a file.
- Open Settings → Data Exchange only when you have data-exchange manage access.
- Review event, import-job, export-job, and failed-row information before retrying or downloading a diagnostic CSV.
- Treat a queued or running job as in progress until its recorded status becomes terminal.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”Data exchange is server-side job work. A requested export or import is not complete merely because the request was accepted; verify the recorded job state and any generated download before relying on it.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”- Cannot access a file: check both
filespermission and the attached record’s module/owner scope. - Cannot open Data Exchange: it requires
data_exchangemanage permission. - Rows failed: download the failed-row file only if authorized, correct the source data, then follow the approved retry process.
